Many consultants give presentations and demo to their clients. But what if the audience is very large and the embedded screenshots in your presentations is not visible clearly to them? Mark Russinovich of Microsoft has developed an application using which you can magnify or zoom your computer screen that helps in technical presentations and application demonstrations.
After installing the application, click on the system tray icon and configure the settings as per your requirements. You can configure hotkeys for zoom-in or zoom-out, change the color of pen et cetera. I use red color pen more often. Just click the left button of the mouse pointing the cursor to the system tray icon of the application you downloaded.Select “Draw”. Hold the left button and use your mouse to use the pen. You can use the colored pen in zoom mode also.
ZoomIt works on all versions of Windows. It also includes a break timer feature that remains active even when you tab away from the timer window and allows you to return to the timer window by clicking on the ZoomIt tray icon. Similar application Nlarge has been developed by Robburke. It magnifies the screen through a smooth animation, and allows you to pan and zoom around the magnified screen. You can annotate the magnified image using the mouse or a Tablet PC pen. You can also annotate with text. But it has smooth zoom effects as compared to ZoomIt. Nlarge runs on Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, and will also work on Windows XP and Server 2003 but you need to install the .NET Framework version 3.0 which is free download.
NLarge and ZoomIt both runs from your system tray, and is triggered by a hotkey (Ctrl-1 by default) and both of them are absolutely free.
