Window Vista Tips : Use On-Screen Keyboard to Securely Enter Password

Using virtual keyboard you can block keyloggers and can enter your sensitive and private information such as password using your mouse. To use virtual keyboard, you need to install and enable Tablet PC Optional Components in Windows Vista, which is readily available in Home Premium, Ultimate and Business editions.

To install and enable the Tablet PC Optional Components in Windows vista follow these steps.
1. Click Windows Vista Start button and go to Control Panel.
2. Click on Programs link.
3. Click on Turn Windows features on or off link situated at almost top.
4. Click on Continue button for confirmation.
5. Once done you will notice a list of features in Windows Features dialog window, check the check box for Tablet-PC Optional Components.
6. Click Ok to confirm the installation of Tablet PC Optional Components in Vista.

After enabling the Tablet PC Optional Components, to invoke the virtual keyboard Navigate to-

Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Tablet PC -> Tablet PC Input Panel.

You can also invoke the virtual keyboard in other way –

Start -> Search -> type ‘TabTip.exe’ and press Enter to run it. On the on-screen keyboard, click third “keyboard” button to display the keyboard layout as shown in the screenshot.
