When to use sn0wbreeze [PwnageTool to Windows]

sn0wbreeze is PwnageTool to Windows, which was originally made for Mac OS X that create a Custom IPSW for your device, used to restore with iTunes and ultimately jailbreaking iPhone and iPod Touch devices. sn0wbreeze can customize your ipsw, to have the Partition Size, reserved space for Cydia, Hacktivation Option, Custom Boot/Recovery Images, et cetera. sn0wbreeze, is set for release set to be released on 12th October 2009 as reported earlier. sn0wbreeze, an iPhone & iPod Touch jailbreak tool does not upgrade your baseband and this will not even provide you with an option to permit a baseband upgrade. It jailbreaks iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3G[S] (Only if Jailbroken on 3.0), iPod Touch 1G, iPod Touch 2G and iPod Touch 2G running 3.1. sn0wbreeze tool has been developed for windows users only as for mac iPhone users can use Pwnage tool for jailbreak. It is important to note that the tool does not unlock the Baseband 5.11.07

If you have jailbroken your iPhone/iPod Touch on OS 3.0.1 by using redsn0w tool then you can use sn0wbreeze to jailbreak while upgrading iPhone OS to 3.1, but while restoring the tool will format everything for re-partitioning the iPhone forcing you to re-install all your Apps into you jailbroken device again. According to iH8sn0w, iPhone users cannot do unauthorized Internet Tethering on 3.1 unless it is approved by your carrier e.g AT&T. They can indeed use third party software like iModem when it is jailbroken.
