After a survey Yahoo found that Fifty-five percent of respondents play back video clips for their friends on their camera device or PC, and 20 percent don’t share these clips at all. Based on these statistics Yahoo has added video uploading and sharing to their flickr Pro users. But there are some restrictions while uploading the videos .Video can be uploaded in AVI, WMV, MOV, MPEG (1, 2, and 4) and 3gp format only. File should not be more than 150MB in size and length not more than 90 Seconds.
Videos can be uploaded directly from mobile phones, and videos and photos can be integrated into a stream. As of now you may not be able to download any Flickr video. You can only download the video which have been uploaded by you. You should have a Flickr Pro user account to upload the video but to watch the video you need not to have Pro user account. For one year Pro user account you have to shell out $24.95.It would be tough for Flickr to lock horns with youtube.Lets see how Flickr gives fight to youtube, metacafe and other sites which offer free video upload.
