How to Unlock iPhone 3G/3GS 3.1.2 OS with Blacksn0w

Few minutes back blacksn0w was released to Unlock iPhone 3G/3GS OS 3.1.2 baseband 05.11.07. Blacksn0w is bundled with blackra1n RC3 that comes with hacktivation support, 15 second speed improvement, Tiger+PPC support, and installation of the latest blackra1n.app. Follow the steps below to Unlock iPhone 3.1.2 firmware using blacksn0w.

Steps to unlock iPhone 3.1.2 firmware

Unlock 05.11.07 baseband with Blacksn0w (Current blackra1n users)
Step 1-
Run blackra1n.app on your iPhone.


Step 2- You will notice Icy replaced by an option “ra1n”.


Step 3- Install this to upgrade your app.
Step 4- After upgrading, run blackra1n.app again.
Step 5- You will see “sn0w”.


Step 6- Install this, and enjoy your unlocked iPhone.

Unlock 05.11.07 baseband with Blacksn0w (New blackra1n users)
iPhone users who are looking to upgrade to iPhone 3.1.2 firmware and the corresponding baseband, willing to restore for the latest, or stuck on the “Connect to iTunes” screen must follow the steps below to unlock iPhone 3.1.2 firmware.
Step 1- Connect your iPhone or iPod to the computer.
Step 2- Download blackra1n RC3 for Mac OS X on your computer desktop.
Step 3- Extract the blackra1n zip file and double click the blackra1n icon to launch the program.
Step 4- A pop-up window will appear with make it ra1n button. Click on ‘make it ra1n’ button.


Step 5- You iPhone will enter in recovery mode and your iPhone or iPod Touch will reboot. After reboot a message will appear that says ‘blackra1n is free software and not meant for commercial use’. Click Ok to continue.


Step 6- After reboot process is completed your iPhone is jailbroken and you will notice a blackra1n icon on the iPhone/iPod Touch.


Step 7- Click the blackRa1n icon to launch the application (internet connectivity is must to complete the process).
Step 8- Select sn0w and then press the Install button at the top right of the screen to download and install the package you selected.


Step 9- After installing blacksn0w you will be prompted with a Post Install log for sn0w. CommCenter will be restarted and there is no need to reboot. If your carrier doesn’t support 3G then disable it. Press the Close button to continue.
Step 10- Voilla! Your iPhone 3.1.2 firmware is unlocked.

    I did not use blackra1in to jailbreak my phone but was able to unlock via cydia adding balckra1n.com as a source and installing blacksnow, i had to do it twice before it appeared and it worked. thanks so much. I have my iphone back.

    okay i just unlocked my iphone 3gs on 5.11.07 baseband for t-mobile. i had some issues with the wifi and youtube but was soon fixed with some resets. I just have 1 last issue with my mobile internet. I used to be able to surf the web on my 3gs on tmobile with wap.voicestream.com in the apn field but i cant do that now with 5.11.07 baseband. is this a issue for anyone else or is it just me?? and if so are there any fixes for it??

    i have a iPhone 3gs 16G and i unlocked using blackra1n. But when restart my iphone then show in recovery mode. Anyone can solve this issue? Or izit the manufacturing serial no for the iphone example 869..41 last 2 number above not yet fixed?...plz help

    you have to run blackra1n again and it should load up.
    it can't be fixed just yet im pretty sure.
    so yeah just plug in your iphone when it's in recovery mode then run blackra1n and it should be back to normal.

    but when restart or off/on the iphone will stuck in recovery mode again.
    due to, the manufacturing last 2 digit number is the week of product above 41 have this issue & i think have to wait another new firmware to update again for solve this problem.

    Hello, I have jaikbreaked my 3gs iphone but I cannot unlock it. I tried with blacksnow and ultrasnow but no result. please help !!

    I do not get any error message. I simply cannot see the carrier under the settings which means it does not recognize my sim card. I tried to run ultrasnow but unsuccessfully
