System Restore can protect your computer from spyware

Many a times it happens, we install any software and find that a spyware has hit our computer. We wish to undo the install anyhow, but find ourselves helpless. However this undo can be done by creating restore points in windows. Restore point records the system configuration before the software is being installed. System Restore point only restores the system configuration before that date. It does not delete any data stored after that date. The system restore can be turned on which automatically creates restore points in your system. You can also manually create restore point.


To view System Restore properties of your computer, check the below settings :

click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Here it shows the option:

1.Restore your system: if you wish to restore your system settings this can be done by selecting “Restore my computer to an earlier time” option. If your system already have some restore time, it will show all and you can choose one and restore your system on that date.

Now you’ve successfully removed the spyware and restored your system to good working order, Once done you must now delete your saved restore points so that you don’t accidently use System Restore and reinstall the spyware on your system. For this, right-click the My Computer >properties>System Restore tab, click the check box next to “Turn off System Restore on all drives.” Click OK, then repeat the process, unchecking the box to turn System Restore back on.

2.Create a restore point : You can also create a restore point before any install by selecting the option to “create a restore point”.After creating a restore point you can proceed with your installation and if anything goes wrong you can restore the system.
