Download Service Pack 2 of Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac (12.2.0)

Service Pack 2 of Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac has been released and is available for download. This update fixes bugs and contains several improvements to improve stability, reliability and performance. This update includes a new application called Microsoft Document Connection that makes it easy to work with files that are located on a SharePoint site or Microsoft Office Live Workspace. SP 2 of Microsoft Office 2008  also includes new features like path animations and animated .GIFs, in Microsoft PowerPoint 2008 for Mac. Following are the list of some of the improvements that were made with this update.

Improvements for Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac

·         Stability is improved when you use Mail Merge with pictures.

·         Compatibility with Word 2007 is improved.

·         Compatibility is improved with SpellCatcher X.

·         Section indicator is included in the Word status bar.

Improvements for Microsoft Excel 2008 for Mac

·         Shapes on a chart are positioned correctly.

·         Excel Web Services display Excel 2008 Workbooks correctly on the Web.

·         Charts display the correct international date format.

·         Filtered list criteria are retained when you copy from Excel to PowerPoint.

·         Linked cell in a workbook updates when the source cell in another workbook is updated.

Improvements for Microsoft PowerPoint 2008 for Mac

·         Animated .gif files play in slide show.

·         Replace the default black-on-white theme with a custom theme.

·         Fonts are retained when you insert a PowerPoint slide from another presentation.

Prerequisites

Before you install the Office 2008 12.2.0 Update, make sure that the computer is running Mac OS X 10.4.9 (Tiger) or a later version of the Mac OS X operating system.

Note - This update is the minimum Office for Mac requirement for installing Microsoft Entourage 2008 for Mac, Web Services Edition.
