Manage or prioritize your emails using Email Prioritizer – Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Add-in

Working with high volume of emails in an office is a real pain. Most of us get too many emails and have a hard time keeping up with them. Most of the times frivolous email arrives like emails containing jokes, cartoons, poems, quotes et cetera when we are preparing an important presentation to be presented before the client.

I wish outlook could have an inbuilt feature to prioritize the emails and an option to stop the mail arrival at inconvenient times. It can help in improving your productivity slightly.

Well, Microsoft Office Labs guys have developed Email Prioritizer that includes these features as a plug-in for Outlook.

Email Prioritizer provides-

1. A “Do Not Disturb” button that stops incoming mail delivery so you can work without interruptions. You can choose to pause email delivery from 10 minutes up to 4 hours. You can even pause as long as you are engaged in an important discussion.
2. Email priorities are assigned to incoming mail so you can focus on the most important mail first. With a “0-3 stars” ranking system, you can focus on email messages that are most important to you. Priorities can be assigned using a number of information about an email, like the email sender. You can assign a top priority to the email from your direct manager or client. Like wise you can set for others. To change the priority of any email just right-click the menu on the email message (right click on the message, choose Priority, and select the new priority).

If you did not likes the plug-in you can un-install it anytime. To uninstall Email Prioritizer follow simple steps below-

On Windows XP

• Navigate to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
• Search for ‘Email Prioritizer’ from Microsoft Office Labs.
• Select and remove from your machine.
• Restart Outlook for the uninstall process to be completed.

On Windows Vista

• Navigate to Control Panel -> Uninstall a Program
• Search for ‘Email Prioritizer’ from Microsoft Office Labs.
• Select and remove from your machine.
• Restart Outlook for the uninstall process to be completed.
