iPhone OS 3.0.1 will Apply brakes on iPhone 3GS Jailbreak and Unlock

Dev Team has decided not to release the JailBreak for iPhone 3GS until iPhone OS 3.0.1 firmware is out. If JailBreak for iPhone 3GS is released now then Apple is expected to release iPhone OS 3.0.1 firmware soon to block ultrasn0w and the iboot exploit. Another reason for the delay is being that jailbreaking iPhone 3GS at this point will benefit only few people.

We fully support and appreciate the decision taken by the iPhone Dev team. If the iPhone 3GS jailbreak is released by the iPhone Dev team now then the users will not be able to jailbreak their iPhones after the iPhone 3.0.1 firmware is released by Apple. In iPhone OS 3.0.1, Apple might fix the iBoot-family bug that signs the old iBoots and you will not be able to upload the old iBoot to your phone even though it is apple-signed-code. If that is done then you cannot jailbreak or unlock your iPhone 3GS.
