How to Remove or disable Google Chat window in iGoogle

What if a chat window suddenly pops up while you are reading your daily news updates on iGoogle. Chat Window in iGoogle is sometimes very annoying. But there is no direct way of disabling it. To remove or disable the google chat window follow the steps below-

 
1. Visit the settings page of iGoogle here.
2. Scroll down to “Export / Import” and Click the ‘Export’ button to export your iGoogle Settings
as an xml file to your desktop.

3. Open the XML file search for “<Section />” tag. Make sure you are removing only the last “<Section />” tag that you find in the entire file.

4. Save the xml file.
5. Return to the iGoogle settings page. Slect the modified xml file and upload it.

6. Click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom to save the new settings.
