User Account Control (UAC) is a technology and security infrastructure introduced with Microsoft’s Windows Vista operating system. It aims to improve the security of Microsoft Windows by limiting application software to standard user privileges until an administrator authorizes an increase in privilege level.

UAC feature that adds extra security to your PC is very annoying. The reason being the pop-up windows. Still, you can disable UAC in vista.

To disable UAC in Windows vista, follow these steps-

  1. Click Start button, enter ‘msconfig’, and then press Enter.
  2. The System Configuration Tool opens. Click the ‘Tools’ menu or tab.
  3. Click Disable UAC and then click Launch.
  4. Restart your computer to apply the change.
