To combat global warming Google.org has developed a software tool “Google PowerMeter”, that shows consumers their home energy information almost in real time on their computer. As of now the tool is in testing stage and is not released for public use.

 

How does Google PowerMeter Works?

The tool receives information from utility smart meters and energy management devices and provides anyone who signs up access to her home electricity consumption right on her iGoogle homepage.
