Windows Home Server Team has confirmed tha users can now download Windows Home Server Power Pack 1. As of now the version is only available in English version. The German, Spanish and French version will be released in due course. Power Pack 1, formerly code named UR1, will ship in the first half of 2008 and be made available to existing customers of Windows Home Server via Windows Update. Windows Home Server customers who don’t download it on their own will receive Power Pack 1 via Windows Update in August, and the new Chinese and Japanese versions will RTM (Release to manufacture) in August, too.Power Pack 1 provides support for home computers running Windows Vista x64 editions, backup of home server Shared Folders, improvements to remote access, more efficient power consumption and better performance. It also delivers a fix for the data corruption bug.
HP will also be releasing a software update for the HP MediaSmart Server, delivering enhanced media streaming capabilities from PacketVideo, server-side anti-virus from McAfee and compatibility with 64-bit home PCs.
