Adobe Systems has announced the availability of the public beta versions of ColdFusion 9 (formerly Centaur) Beta and ColdFusion Builder (formerly “Bolt”) web development software. The ColdFusion 9 public beta release unveils three main themes: unrivaled developer productivity, deep enterprise integration and simple work flow with Adobe Flash Builder, Adobe AIR and AJAX to create expressive applications.

New features in ColdFusion 9:

1. Office files interoperability to read, write and update spreadsheets easily.
2. Server Manager to centrally manage multiple ColdFusion servers, simplifying administration of your environment across clusters.
3. Access ColdFusion services through AMF and SOAP without writing CFCs.
4. Built in Adobe AIR Local/Remote Database Synchronization.
5. Build database independent applications without writing SQL using Object Relational Mapping.
6. New AJAX controls including multimedia, mapping, et cetera.
7. Enhanced Caching to improve performance of ColdFusion applications.

Additionally, adobe has also added many language and CFC enhancements, database enhancements, performance enhancements such as, granular control over caching, in-memory file capabilities, and improved clustering.
