Computer mouse have come a long way from simple design to fantasy designs with added functionality. Douglas Engelbart at the Stanford Research Institute invented the first mouse prototype in 1963 and Bill English invented the ball mouse in 1972. The ball-mouse replaced the external wheels with a single ball that could rotate in any direction. Since then number of projects have been carried out to enhance the functionality of the mouse, to take care of ergonomics and comfort and many more.
