Completely remove Ads in yahoo Messanger

Ads in Yahoo! Messenger can be removed by manually editing the registry.

1. Go to Start > Run and type “Regedit” (without quotes).
2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>yahoo>pager>YUrl
3. Replace the following registry values with dummy asterisk (*):
Messenger Ad
Webcam Upload Ad
Webcam Viewer Ad
Webcam Viewer Ad Big
Webcam Viewer Ad Medium
Change Room Banner
Conf Adurl
Chat Adurl

4. In case the registry key do not exist, you can create a new String Value registry key with the name by right clicking on the above registry branch and select New > String Value.
5. Close Registry Editor and launch Windows Explorer.
6. Go to C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Cache\
7. Locate the file urls.xml and make sure you clear the content of urls.xml
8. Save the empty urls.xml file (make sure it is an empty file).
9. Change the attributes of urls.xml to Read-Only by right click on the file and select properties, and click on Read-only.

Note: If you are installing new versions of Yahoo Messenger, you’ll have to repeat the steps above.

Remove the Yahoo! Messenger Insider Popup Window

To get rid of this popup screen:

1. Login using the Yahoo messenger.
2. Go to Messenger > Preferences.
3. The Yahoo messenger preferences window appears .
Now, select the General category and uncheck Show Yahoo! Messenger Insider in the When I sign in to Yahoo! Messenger section.
