Beware and Aware of Blogging.

Blogs and social networking are the buzzwords of today. These are the sites where people can meet, communicate, and interact. Status Quo is that millions of new blogs are being added to the web world daily. Many young minds are tweeting, blogging till late hours. Some blogs just to make some extra money out of blogging and some just want to expand their social network using sites such as myspace, orkut, hi5, facebook et cetera. According to me Political blogs is the most sensitive category in blogosphere and one should be careful enough before blogging on such topics. A year back An Egyptian court has sentenced a blogger Abdel Kareem Soliman to four years’ prison for insulting Islam and the president.Photo Credit[Cafepress]
Recently a prominent Malaysian blogger Raja Petra Raja Kamaruddin was charged with sedition for allegedly implying that the deputy prime minister was involved in the sensational killing of a young Mongolian woman. The sedition charge stems from an April 25 article that Raja Petra posted on his popular Web site Malaysia Today.

Recently we have seen an upsurge of bloggers, being convicted. According to me, It is just an attempt to clamp down on all sorts of freedom. Similarly, a 24-year-old Syrian blogger has been convicted and sentenced to three years in prison on charges of undermining the prestige of the state and weakening national morale. Even India which is the largest democratic country in the world is taking bloggers and the people who comment on blogs or jot down their thoughts on social networking sites seriously. Recently Gurgaon based techie was held for posting derogatory messages against Sonia Gandhi on Orkut. Though the person who created group on Orkut ( “We hate Sonia Gandhi”) hasn’t been charged, the techie Rahul Krishnakumar Vaid” was held for posting “vulgar” comments for Sonia Gandhi. Bloggers and Commenter Beware!!! Do not take “freedom of speech” lightly. Your comment may land up you in prison. Think before you blog or comment. Before expressing your thought be pragmatic and do not carry away by your heart’s voice. What do you think about the bloggers being convicted? Is it correct to punish them so heavily (1 to 5 years and even more, if proved guilty)? Please share your opinion about the same. For more tips visit AboutOnlineTips.
