Recently we have seen an upsurge of bloggers, being convicted. According to me, It is just an attempt to clamp down on all sorts of freedom. Similarly, a 24-year-old Syrian blogger has been convicted and sentenced to three years in prison on charges of undermining the prestige of the state and weakening national morale. Even India which is the largest democratic country in the world is taking bloggers and the people who comment on blogs or jot down their thoughts on social networking sites seriously. Recently Gurgaon based techie was held for posting derogatory messages against Sonia Gandhi on Orkut. Though the person who created group on Orkut ( “We hate Sonia Gandhi”) hasn’t been charged, the techie “Rahul Krishnakumar Vaid” was held for posting “vulgar” comments for Sonia Gandhi. Bloggers and Commenter Beware!!! Do not take “freedom of speech” lightly. Your comment may land up you in prison. Think before you blog or comment. Before expressing your thought be pragmatic and do not carry away by your heart’s voice. What do you think about the bloggers being convicted? Is it correct to punish them so heavily (1 to 5 years and even more, if proved guilty)? Please share your opinion about the same. For more tips visit AboutOnlineTips.
